Why Green Corridor?
Louisiana's future seems as uncertain as the weather patterns that dictate the way we live. The near destruction of New Orleans and our economy has exposed many gaps in our ability to function as a society. No longer is it easy to live in south Louisiana knowing the threats that face us, and how they can destroy our life in any given year. The single most pressing problem is a permanent source of funding; funding for our wetlands and funding for our protection against destructive storms in years to come. The problem is complex and involves outside sources controlling the way we approach the solution. The "Green Corridor Solution" provides an internal funding mechanism that will ultimately free Louisiana from having to stand with our hands out-stretched to those who cannot fathom our plight.
Relying on others to solve our problems is a self-defeating position that will only exasperate our situation. The goal is to offer this nation a way to help restore itself, while making "Green Corridor" the way to a safer, cleaner America.
